Dear colleagues and partners of the DC dVET,
As part of the DC dVET 10-Year Anniversary Webinar Series, we warmly invite you to an interactive BarCamp-style webinar exploring how skills-related and voluntary migration intersects with dual VET in partner countries: Skills on the Move – How Migration Intersects with Dual VET
Date: Wednesday, 6 May 2026
Time: 10:00–12:00 CET
Across many DC dVET partner contexts, migration is an increasingly relevant factor shaping labour markets, employer engagement, and VET reforms, even where projects do not explicitly focus on migration. This webinar offers space to jointly reflect on these dynamics and to discuss constructive, opportunity‑oriented approaches that go beyond risk‑focused narratives.
What to expect:
- A short evidence‑based input on the nexus of migration, development and skills
- Panel Discussion, bringing together four complementary perspectives:
- Dr. Susanne Schultz (Bertelsmann Stiftung) – Expert on Transnational Skills Partnerships (TSPs), providing insights on opportunities, trade‑offs, and evidence gaps in TSP approaches.
- Duška Jajagin (Energotehnika Južna Bačka) – Company Perspective from a High‑Emigration Context, providing insights into why companies continue to invest in training, and how they cope with high mobility.
- Representative from the GIZ (tbc) – Fair Migration Specialist, providing insight on fair migration principles, ethical recruitment, and implications for dual VET projects.
- Andrea Frkanova (IOM) – Regional Labour Mobility Coordinator, providing insights into current migration policy developments in Europe and what implementers should know.
- BarCamp Couches
After the panel, participants will join one of four practitioner‑oriented breakout sessions. Each session is hosted by an expert and/or practitioner and structured as an open exchange.
Why participate?
- Gain practical insights into how migration affects dual VET projects
- Exchange experiences with fellow project implementers and partners
- Strengthen your ability to discuss migration in a balanced way
