Across many countries, informality is the dominant reality of work – where most young people learn and earn through traditional apprenticeships and on‑the‑job learning. These systems are socially rooted and effective, yet often lack structure, certification, and pathways to better income and mobility. Our new DC dVET products show how dual VET‑inspired approaches can upgrade these existing systems by enhancing learning quality, recognition, and inclusion, without imposing full formalisation.
We are very happy to invite you to the launch of our new DC dVET product package on informality and dual VET, developed to support projects working in high‑informality contexts.
During this short and dynamic session, we will guide you through:
- the enhanced desk study on informality and dual VET,
- insights from four BarCamp sessions with practitioners across regions,
- the new policy brief with targeted recommendations, and
- the new thematic subpage on informality on our website.
Why participate?
- Gain a concise overview of the topic and its practical implications
- Learn from real cases and practitioner insights
- Get acquainted with our new resources tailored to dual VET projects
We look forward to having you with us and to sharing this new milestone for understanding how dual VET can help upgrade skills development in the informal sector.
