Participants reflect the importance of the overall concept of sustainable development (SD). They will become familiarized with the role that education and TVET could play in meeting requirements of the sustainable development goals (SDGs). Based on a case study they will get to know possible strategies, objectives, activities and procedures on promoting TVET towards SD in national TVET systems.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On completion of the training, participants
• are familiar with requirement, meaning and content of the concept of sustainable development and the sustainable development goals
• can assess the social, ecological and economic effects of exemplary purchasing decisions
• know approaches for sustainable development at intergovernmental and national level
• know global initiatives and activities on promoting TVET for SD and how they can support them

• Sustainable development: the key guiding principle for global action
• Approaches for sustainable development at intergovernmental and national level (e.g. SDGs)
• Global initiatives and activities on promoting ESD and TVET towards SD
• Case study: Implementation of ESD and TVET towards SD in Germany
