DESCRIPTION:Exciting news for the DC dVET – Donor Committee for dual Vocational Education and Training! \nWe are happy to announce that we’ve been selected to host our own side event at the Africa Skills Week 2026 in Harare\, Zimbabwe – organized by the African Union!  – Check out the website of the Africa Skills Week: https://africaskill.org/ \nOur session title: “Profitability of Dual VET – From Training to Value Creation”\nIn line with the overarching theme of Africa Skills Week 2026 – “Skills for Resilient and Competitive African Industries: From Training to Value Creation” we will tackle a question that matters deeply to policymakers\, TVET institutions\, and businesses alike: How can dual VET generate genuine added value and profitability for companies\, while ensuring high-quality training and benefits for learners and society? \nDrawing on our extensive experience from West Africa\, we’ll show that private sector engagement is not a “one-size-fits-all” approach\, but requires a systemic\, context-sensitive process.\nOur work on cost-benefit analysis also demonstrates that profitability in dual VET goes far beyond short-term financial returns – it encompasses apprentice productivity\, employee retention\, reduced recruitment costs\, and long-term competitiveness. \nCombining a panel discussion and World Café format\, we’ll bring together high-level partners. DESCRIPTION:22 October 2026 | 09:00–15:00 CET | Hybrid format \nOne year after the DC dVET anniversary event in Albania\, we invite the dual VET community to come together again. The 10-years-anniversary gathering in 2025 showed the value of exchange\, networking and peer learning. New partnerships were initiated\, experiences were shared and cooperation ideas emerged. Take the chance to review the DC dVET anniversary event in Albania on our website! \nThis year\, in a hybrid format\, we will reflect on what has changed since October 2025\, celebrate achievements\, discuss persistent challenges\, and explore opportunities for future cooperation. In many countries\, business associations\, chambers and sector organizations play a key role in ensuring that vocational education responds to the real needs of companies and labor markets. \nInspired by the case of Georgia\, which is currently in a process of important reforms in higher and vocational education and exploring how to further strengthen work-based learning and dual vocational education models\, the Donor Committee for Dual Vocational Education and Training (DC dVET)\, is organizing a series of practical and interactive webinars designed specifically for business associations\, chambers and sector organizations. The webinar series will bring together international experts and practitioners who share their experiences on how these organizations can become an effective partner in the governance and development of dual VET systems. \n  \nAbout the fourth webinar \nSuccessful dual VET systems depend on effective cooperation between public and private stakeholders. Yet cooperation does not happen automatically. Trust must be built through shared experiences\, clear responsibilities\, transparent communication\, and reliable follow-through. In this webinar\, participants will explore how business associations\, employers\, VET providers\, ministries\, and agencies can develop trusting relationships that enable sustainable collaboration and meaningful reforms in VET. \nDrawing on international experiences from different countries\, participants will examine practical strategies for building and maintaining trust between stakeholders. Together\, they will explore stakeholder interests and constraints\, discuss common challenges and setbacks\, and identify concrete mechanisms such as joint activities\, communication routines\, and accountability measures that strengthen cooperation over time. \n  \nInternational practitioners sharing their experience \nThe session will feature practical insights from international experts with hands-on experience in understanding and building personal and institutional trust among stakeholders in the field of VET: \nFation Dragoshi \nSwisscontact Albania \nFation Dragoshi is Programme Manager of the Skills for Jobs (S4J) project in Albania\, a Swiss-funded initiative that strengthens the quality and labour market relevance of vocational education and training (VET). With more than 20 years of experience in digitalisation\, skills development\, public-private partnerships\, and labour market policies\, he has led numerous initiatives fostering innovation and systemic reform in education and employment. He is also actively engaged in promoting future-oriented skills and workforce development through collaboration with both public and private sector stakeholders. \nBoris Trimcev \nPrivate Sector Engagement Advisor in North Macedonia\nBoris brings extensive experience in private sector engagement\, dual vocational education and training\, and private sector development. Designed and managed collaborative partnerships with national and multinational companies to co-develop workforce programmes aligned with industry demand\, and played a significant role in scaling the national Dual Education system in North Macedonia. \nWhy participate? \nTrust is one of the most important yet often overlooked foundations of successful VET cooperation. This webinar offers practical tools and real-world examples that can help participants initiate partnerships\, overcome barriers to collaboration\, and create more reliable and productive relationships between education and labour market actors.
