The Role of the Business Sector in VET

Having a cooperative partnership between the public and private sector is an important prerequisite for the effective functioning of dual VET. In most developing countries, this aspect constitutes a major challenge. VET systems are often defined, organized, financed and operated by the state or they are based on traditional apprentice systems within companies. In both cases, there is the risk of a mismatch between VET and the requirements of the labor market.

The question on how to involve the private sector is a key issue for the Donor Committee. To address this issue, DC dVET has compiled several studies. For more information see here:
