Project Description

Skills Development for Employment Programme, financed by SDC

Project Overview

The Skills Development for Employment Programme works towards increasing employment and self- employment of young women and men in urban and rural areas. This four-year programme is implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). With its focus on policy level changes this programme is complementing the Swiss funded Skills for Job project that works more on the VET school level.

Dual Elements

  • Theoretical and school-based learning is prevalent in Albania. Therefore the programme is exploring ways of introducing work-based learning as a necessary bridge between education and work. First steps include a working group on work-based learning, a study on private sector involvement, and desk re- search of the topic.
