Project data
Country: Palestinian territories
Implementing partner / implementer: GIZ
Co-funding: SDC and European Union
Project duration: 2015 – 2018

Project description

  • The objective of the project is to ensure that many more young people are employed in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem and Gaza. The competitiveness of the Palestinian economy is increasing, in part because of the greater integration of the private sector in a labour market-oriented vocational education and training system.

  • The focus of the approach is on adapting vocational education and training to the current employment situation and the needs of the labour market.

  • Local employment and training councils themselves shape the training and labour market situation in their catchment area. Represented here are governmental service providers and regional decision-makers, trade associations, educational establishments and civil society.

  • The target group is young Palestinians.
