Project description

  • The non-profit association Austrian Apprenticeship Shanghai was initiated in 2013 by the two renowned Austrian companies ALPLA Werke Alwin Lehner GmbH & CO KG and Engel Austria GmbH in order to join forces with the Shanghai Information Technology College (SITC) and WIFI International to set up the inter-company infrastructure for the dual training of metal technicians (CNC technicians) and plastics engineers in Shanghai.

  • The strategic alliance of private and public partners enables SITC to expand its teaching offer with the addition of an innovative, dual training scheme.

  • The project measures comprise the development of dual training curricula which are geared towards Chinese requirements and also Austrian quality standards, the continuing education and training of local VET school teachers and better equipment at the training workshop of SITC.

  • The target group is the SITC students who come from low-income brackets.
