The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) often relies on external consultants for its interventions, including in the field of vocational skills development (VSD). These expert advisors play a central role in the technical design, backstopping, reviews and evaluations of SDC projects and programmes. As knowledge carriers, consultants are thus at the interface between SDC operations in partner countries and SDC as a learning organisation. By their expert advice, consultants are shaping the SDC project’s portfolio and have an impact on operations. Thus, in compliance with its mandate for knowledge management, thematic learning and quality assurance, the SDC’s focal point employment and income is keen to bringing together the experts in vocational education and training for an exchange.
