CONFERENCE CANCELLED!

Call for Papers & Participation

The Swiss Economic Institute KOF together with NADEL will hold the international conference on “Education and Decent Work for Youth” on June 4-5, 2020 at ETH Zurich. Linked to the topic of the conference, KOF and NADEL together run the research project “LELAM-TVET4INCOME: Linking Education and Labour Markets: Under what conditions can Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) improve the income of the youth?”. This project is financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) under their joint “Swiss Programme for Research on Global Issues for Development” (r4d programme). The r4d programme supports research aimed at solving global problems with a focus on least developed, low and middle income countries.

The aim of the international and interdisciplinary conference is to provide a platform for leading development scholars, practitioners and policy-makers to reflect on the determinants of improving education and the working conditions for youth in developing countries.

We invite contributions from scholars in economics, sociology and educational science.

Deadline for submissions: February 14, 2020. Only extended abstracts (min. 3 pages) or full papers are accepted.

Anyone wanting to attend the conference without presenting is welcome to register until: April 30,2020.
